Ever Have One of Those Sundays??

Do you ever have one of those Sundays where EVERYTHING you hear at church seems directed at you? Every prayer, every talk, every lesson seems applicable to YOUR life? This was my Sunday.
Sacrament Meeting went well. Lately I've tried to make a conscious effort to concentrate on the Savior during the passing of the sacrament, and today, it just totally slipped my mind. When the deacons were returning the water trays, I remember thinking to myself, "Wait! I forgot! Can I have a do-over?"
Once the speakers started, I DID get my do-over. The first speaker talked about being Christ's hands and responding quickly to promptings. He talked about how we say our prayers praying for someone to help us and they come and DO help us, why can't we be the answer to someone else's prayer?
Then our choir sang one of my favorite songs, "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing." I sang with the choir, and before going up I warned my boys to be good....Jake followed us up onto the stand and then stood at the front and peeked over the edge. Nice, my son is the ward's entertainment.
The second talk was about forgiveness. I come from a long line of grudge holders, and have perfected this trait myself. In fact, I've been struggling lately, but I haven't really mentioned it here, but I will now, because I need some help and perspective to get past it.
About a month ago, on one of our many Family Home Evenings, I had a blow up with my step-grandma. She is constantly telling me what to do, and treating me like a little kid. She's not very nice about it, and acts like she's my mom and I'm an incapable child. Well, that night, she tried to tell me something (at the same time that my own mother was telling me the SAME thing) and I got frustrated. I've held in my true feelings for years. And unfortunately, I blew up. I yelled and screamed and basically acted like a baby. I told her that I was an adult, and that I did NOT need her to tell me what to do. I can take care of my own family and she didn't need to get in the middle of it.
Now, the message is one that she might need to hear (since she is a butt-insky and is always trying to micromanage everyone around her....) but my presentation was HORRIBLE! I felt terrible. I wanted to apologize to her for yelling, but not for my message. So after consulting with some friends, I decided to email her my apology, but tell her that I will not put up with her treatment of me anymore. I meant what I said, but that I felt bad about yelling and acting like a little kid.
That was the single most SCARIEST moment of my life. I did NOT want to hurt her feelings, but I felt like I needed to stand up for myself and let her know where I stood. A week went by...she had not responded. I felt like things were going to be okay, and she was just going to let this blow over. I was relieved that we were "okay."
Unfortunately that is NOT how it ended. By the end of the week she had sent me a very nasty email saying that I was a horrible mother and wife and that she needed to tell me what to do because I was so incapable of doing it on my own.
I was hurt and angry. (Truth be told, I'm STILL hurt and angry.)
I have not seen NOR spoken to her since then.....it's very odd, and I have guilt that she is keeping herself from the rest of my family because of me.
When I heard the forgiveness talk today I KNEW that it was Heavenly Father's way of telling me that it is time to forgive her and move on. I just don't know how....it's so hard to forgive someone who refuses to forgive me (yes, in the email she told me that she will NEVER forgive me....) and someone who treats me and my family so badly. (I've been thinking over and over at how she treats my sweet Cameron....and it brings Mama Bear out EVERY time.) Someone told me that I need to let go and stop stewing over her, especially when I haven't seen her or talked to her in such a long time. That it is Satan trying to get me into his nets.
I admit that I should, but I am SO good at holding grudges. I mean, I'm amazing at holding grudges.
All through his talk I felt the Spirit tell me, "You need to forgive her. Forgiveness will make you feel so much better and you know it."
I know I do, and so in the middle of that talk, I said a small prayer that I will be able to find a way to forgive her.
Sunday School was great as well. The teacher spoke of parables and how we need to change ourselves to be receptive to truths. (Hello, I must need to do a lot of changing, because forgiveness is one of my weaknesses....)
Relief Society was probably the place where I was touched the most. I will tell you, I love my ward. LOVE them. And I've been trying to sit in different parts of the room to get to know every body and to switch things up. I sat by one of my favorite people and settled in to enjoy the lesson. Our opening song was "As Sisters in Zion." Again, a hymn that I love and that means SO much to me. I didn't have a book, so I felt the power of the words coming through my heart. It was very special.
Then the lesson was about Charity. This is something I wish I had a better grasp of. Charity is something I wish that I had for everyone, but I've been learning that I am very judgmental and I don't love everyone the same way Christ does. I've been trying to change. It's started a while ago with my younger brother, who has made so many wrong choices. One day I commented that something he loves is for "weird people" and he chastened me by saying "no, it's for people who are judged...." I have been quick to judge first and not to love as quickly. I've tried to change this about myself, and can truly feel stronger love for my brother.
During the lesson today I realized, "Charity is the answer to your forgiveness.... You need to learn to love your step-grandma the way that Christ does. Not only do you need to find Charity in your heart for her, but you need to share this love with your husband and children. They are the ones who are most deserving of your love and understanding. Treat them ALL better and you will be happier."
I spent the remainder of the lesson in tears and being chastened by the Spirit. (The teacher didn't make the lesson out to be one where you feel bad, in fact, she did an amazing job! I just took the truths she was teaching and applied them to my situations.) The closing hymn in Relief Society was the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's version of "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus." As I think back to that song, I'm tearing up. It was beautiful and so true....we need to" love one another as Jesus loves [us]. Try to show kindness in all that [we] do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, for these are the things Jesus taught." It shouldn't be so hard, it should be simple and easy to follow in his footsteps.
I've tried applying these lessons into dealing with my children, and while I have fallen a few times (yes, I've failed a few times in the last few hours since church...) things are going SO well. My boys aren't going to turn to me immediately, but I believe that if I love them with the "pure love of Christ" then things will be better and I will be happier.
The best part of the day came after the closing prayer. My favorite lady, that I sat by, leaned over and said to me (while the tears were pouring down my cheeks...) "I want you to know, that whenever people mention 'Dawnyel,' I hear nothing but good things. You are so sweet and we all just love having you here." Could there not be a better way to end the day?
So many lessons learned in such a short amount of time. It's been a fantastic Sunday.

Wow....That Was Fast

Today in church I was sitting during the sacrament and thinking about Jesus. I was thinking about the mistakes I've made lately....most of them are with my children. I'm too quick to yell at them, get easily frustrated with the little things they do (or don't do) and I feel like I've lost the love that I have for them. In my heart I prayed that Heavenly Father would forgive me for treating these sweet children so poorly. I asked that he would show me a way to love them, the way that He loves them. I felt peace in my heart, and for the first time in a while, I was happy to sit with a wiggly 2-year old and a 10-year old who's always asking question after question.
Today was Testimony meeting, and many members got up and bore sweet testimony of Jesus and his love for us. I was touched by the Spirit, and again, I felt that sweet peace.
It was during our last meeting of the day that I truly felt Heavenly Father's love for me. The lesson was on strengthening our families. I felt like I had been hit between the eyes.
There were many great stories shared, examples of bringing up children the correct way. Then one of the topics addressed was respect. It was then that I realized that if I want my children to show ME respect, I must first respect them. I need to take their problems seriously (because to them, the broken toy is a HUGE issue and it's important to them) and show them my love through respect.
It was a HUGE eye-opener for me. I felt the answers to my prayers (that I had only prayed an hour and a half before) quickly and fully answered. I know there is a lot of work ahead of me, but I feel that I can make it. I can do it and I am ready.
I feel so blessed to have Heavenly Father answer my prayers SO quickly!

What is the funniest thing the boys have done this week?
Jewelle:
Jake's is easy to remember....I might have to come back when I think of Cam's.
On Tuesday night, we were at my parents' house. It was my mom's birthday, and I had bought her some obnoxious things: a funny card (she said it wasn't as funny as I thought though), a cake, and a balloon. The balloon was a hit....for Jake. He would NOT leave the thing alone.
After playing with it for a while, he found a water balloon, uninflated. He took it to my dad and asked him to blow it up. My dad began blowing it up.
Now, imagine if you can: Jake, standing next to my dad's recliner, watching intently while another balloon is inflated. My dad, turning a little purple in the face, because, well, water balloons aren't MEANT to be blown up. And finally, my dad's black Pomeranian, LuLu...innocently lying in his lap.
Suddenly, the balloon popped. LuLu took off, running. Jake jumped backward....and my dad started laughing. My younger brother began chasing the dog, trying to comfort her, and Jake was in AWE of the loud noise.
At this point, the rest of us are busting a gut because LuLu's reaction was SO funny. Soon, Jake begins throwing blankets around, swinging his head back and forth....HE'S LOOKING FOR THE BALLOON!! Oh, my gosh! We are laughing even HARDER now....
Oh, it was SO funny! Jake never DID find the balloon.

The Plan

After talking with the boys' doctor, we have decided that maybe Cam is not sleeping well because he's grumpy and is POSSIBLY having a sugar low. I've noticed during the daytime that he's pale and grumpy if he doesn't eat constantly. The doctor told me that kids can't regulate their sugars the same way adults can. He recommends giving Cameron a bedtime snack for 3-5 days to see if that helps.
He also thinks that our nightmare of a bedtime may be helped if Cam takes a 5 mg ritalin before bedtime. He thinks that his brain may need the medication to help shut his brain down so that he CAN sleep. He recommends trying the ritalin for 3-5 days to see if IT helps.
These two solutions aren't to be tried at the same time because we wouldn't be able to tell which one works. He isn't even SURE that these suggestions will help, but I'm at my wits end and I'm willing to try anything.
This week we're going to try the bedtime snack. I even let Cameron pick out what he wanted.
I've had some other friends recommend detachable night lights or telling Cam that I will come in to check on him in so-many minutes.
Last night was NOT a fun experience, yet again, so tonight I'm anticipating more screaming and frustrations, but hopefully we'll be on a good track!

Summer, winter, spring, or fall?
Elena:
Fall is my ABSOLUTE favorite. (I think I may have mentioned it before....) I love fall because I got married in the fall (which made for a BEAUTIFUL backdrop for some of the pictures...), my first baby was born in the fall (4 days before my first anniversary!), and I love the colors, smells and coolness in the air. It's so wonderful, and I can feel a tinge of it in the air now! :D

do you enjoy breastfeeding or do it b/c it's best for baby?
what is your favorite time of day with Jacob?
Is Cam adjusting better to being a big brother?
Amy:
I LOVE breastfeeding. The reason I do it is because I heard of the amazing bonding that comes between mother and child when feeding. I never got the chance to do that with Cam, because he never knew how to suck properly. I felt like I'd missed out on being a "true mother" because with Cam I had a c-section AND couldn't nurse him. I felt like I'd missed a HUGE part of becoming a mom. (Not that there's anything wrong with what I had done, but that's how I'd felt.)
So when I had Jake I'd determined that I was going to try as hard as I could to get him to nurse. Imagine my disappointment when one of his nurses informed me that he didn't know how to suck. I felt crushed! But I didn't give up. I'd consulted the lactation consultant and tried and tried and tried until he finally latched on and ate like a pro.
Honestly, breastfeeding is one of the best feelings I get from this child. The connection is amazing, and I don't have to get up and make bottles in the middle of the night....HECK, I don't have to worry about proper temperatures or ANYTHING like that. My milk is ALWAYS the proper temperature and mixture! ;)
I love it when after Jake's nursed he snuggles up to me and naps. (He's doing it now!) He's not usually too snugly with me (mostly because I smell like dinner....) so once he's fed and sleepy he'll cuddle up to me and I just LOVE it!
Cam absolutely LOVES being a big brother, although he does feel like he doesn't get enough holding time. He's constantly reminding me that he didn't get to hold Jacob. My problem with him holding the baby is that he doesn't know how to control the baby yet, and both of them will end up in all sorts of odd positions. I just worry that he will hurt Jake, although I know it's something that he needs to learn, I want him to learn when I'm right there the whole time.

What kind of sling do you have - and do you like it?
Deanna:
Uh, I hate to admit this, but I'm just borrowing this sling. I don't know what kind of sling it is. I know it's got 2 rings that I can use to adjust the tension and it's padded, but that's all I know.
It's actually taken both of us a while to get used to the sling. I think that the more we use it, the better it will be. (Jake is snuggled into the sling right now while I type.) I just need to get him in the position that HE likes. Laying in the nursing position (what I like to call, "assuming the position") is NOT his favorite. He actually likes to be up and down, kinda smooshed between my boobs! :P But yeah, I do like it. I'm sure that once we get better used to it that I'll even be able to manage cleaning my house while wearing the sling! ;)

Hooray! I usually don't ask question, but I like to see other's questions and your answers! you're always so clever...but today i'm going to ask a question - or two:
1. Who do you think is having the hardest time adjusting - you, cam, or your hubby?
2. What's your favorite quirk about your new little guy (I've already forgotten his name...it will come to me...or not)?
Deanna:
1. I think the one who's having the hardest time is Cam. I know that he's feeling left out of a LOT of things....he's craving more mama and daddy time that we just can't quite give him. He's been an only-lonely for 7 1/2 years, so adjusting is going to take some time....I just hope that I can help him understand that we still love him as much as we did before baby Jake came. Until then, I just try to make him feel loved and listened to!
2. The cutest thing that Jacob does is laugh. Yes, he does. But when he does it he does it in his sleep. His laugh is SO stinkin' adorable. He doesn't make ONE noise, but his whole head just jiggles with the laughter! I can't wait until he laughs on purpose! :D

I honestly don't know how it happens, but it's the same process that turns a little bit of milk into TONS of poop! (Jakey's diapers are starting to overflow now! How in the world did this happen!?)

Still having them, although they're not TOO bad. I even went in for my second NST this week, and they didn't detect any! *phew* Steve thought for SURE that I was going to have a baby last night! :D
(For those who DON'T know, I was having all sorts of contractions for about 30 minutes last night. I kept having them on and off, but nothing really bad. I'm sure it's just those Braxton Hicks Contractions I've heard about. The only REAL problem I'm having is that sometimes my contractions will bother me enough that I get a severe back-ache....otherwise, no problems!)

Five times....I think! :P

Okay- I suck, a thought just hit me-- why is it you have to schedule a c-section? I know it's personal, but I was curious... I've only had 2 close friends have c-sec, one was an emergency one afte rmany hours of labor- the other, her doc let her decide how she wante dto deliver, and she had no desire to experience labor. :)
e being nosey... feel free to tell me to shut up.
Melzie:
You're not nosy!! :)
I'm having a c/s because I had one with Cameron.
With that boy, I was in labor for 23 hours and felt NO contractions, and no labor pains. (Don't feel jealous....it ended up with me HAVING to have a c/s.) My blood pressure instantly dropped when the doctor had me get the epidural, and that initiated an emergency c/s, because they lost Cam's heartbeat. In the end they got it back before delivery, but still did the c/s because I was NOT progressing.
All that ever came down of the child was the skin on the top of his head. (My mom and husband told me that he had a point on top for a while.)
After that, we asked my doctor whether I HAD to do c/s for every child I had after or if I could try for a VBAC. He said, we COULD try, but would most likely end up having a c/s anyway. So I've just planned on having all of my children c/s. (Plus, my doctor told me recently that the baby is now SO big, that "it's a good thing you're doing c-sections!")

Anne:
She's a DOLL! (And now that I know she's here I'm going to have to go back and read about her just a little bit more!)
I can't wait to have our baby. We've got almost everything finished...and I just wait for this pain to go away and hold my little guy in my arms. Seriously, I CANNOT wait!
Right now, we're in the middle of cleaning up our bedroom so that we'll have room for the playpen/bassinett. So far, we're doing okay, except we've got a TON of crap in piles in the room. A quick trip to DI will help that, I'm SURE!
I have a few cute outfits to bring him home in....haven't decided exactly WHICH one yet, but will soon. (And no on the matchy outfits....it's hard to find them in such extremes in sizes...)

I think 2.5 year old are impossible, because they're trying to develop those personalities just a little bit more. They want what they want, but can't quite communicate the way they need to get what they want. Yeah, it's a pain....:P

You know, having a sister isn't really what you THINK it would be. Sure it's fun to have another girl around, but really, the hormones, the fights, the clashing personalities....yeah, it's NOT what you think. Brothers are SO much easier when it comes to emotional problems.
This is NOT to say that I don't love my sister...I do, but somedays, it's easier to deal with my brothers....

I finally thought of a question! How did you and your family like Ruby River? What did you get, and would you recommend it?~Jewelle

We LOVED Ruby River. The food was EXCELLENT!! (Although a bit pricy!)
I would have LOVED a steak (I've been craving a good one for a while) but since rare meat is a no-no when pregnant, I ended up getting the smothered chicken....minus the mushrooms, substituted sauteed onions. It was SO good, but with a squished tummy, I had to take most of my food home. (And I LOVED the deep fried baked potato...even though it's NOT the healthiest food around....)
I've BEEN recommending it since. With a disclaimer that the food is DELICIOUS, but pricey!

But since it's a Saturday, I don't think I'll be able to get it. Who in their right mind would SCHEDULE work for a weekend if they can avoid it!? ;)
And no, I haven't asked Steve to get me any food late at night. I guess I'm pretty mellow when it comes to those kinds of things. (Plus, I usually convince myself that my random, yeah, random, not so much strange cravings, will eventually fizzle out and I'll crave something else...)

Matching outfits?? I honestly hadn't even thought about it (maybe it's the age-gap I've got going on....but would it still be cute with an 8 year difference?)
If I say you're evil, will you still love me? ;) (I actually think matching outfits are WAY cute, but I really hadn't even thought about doing that with Cam and the baby.....hmmmmm....now you've got me thinking.....)

Um...What is your favorite part about spring? and Two, what are you looking forward to most this comming week?
Deanna:
My favorite part of spring is the weather. It's SO nice...not too hot, not too cold, JUST right! (I feel like a fairy tale character saying that!)
I'm looking forward to relaxing this next week. I do have to babysit, but otherwise, I don't have to worry about Cam in school...just doing his regular after school stuff! (Oh, and no scouts...WOO HOO!)

When you shoot a mime, should you use a silencer?
What is one of your all time favorite books? I'm in a literary slump right now...
Scrappy:
If I were to shoot a mime, I'd probably NOT use a silencer....who would care!? ;)
I can't think of just one book that's my all time favorite. Really, I love any and all fluff books. (Not the ones that make you think....just ones that are easily read for fun!) I guess I can't quite answer that one!

I can never seem to think of a fun question for FFA Friday. I am so glad that you have caught the gestational diabetes so quickly. Hopefully the little one will thrive even if you are a pin cushion for awhile.
Okay...question...question...
What are your families Easter traditions?
Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day at all?
How about that Easter candy...tis the most wonderful time of the year! In moderation of course!
Mattsmom:
Our family Easter traditions aren't much. The Easter Bunny brings too much candy, we go to church, and then we eat a fancy dinner at my parents' house. I usually make Deviled Eggs, but we don't color them like we used to. I also like to get Cameron a new church outfit.
All I do for St. Patrick's Day is wear green. (I don't want to be pinched!)
I'm getting bummed about Easter candy. I will probably just save mine for as long as I can. Only eating one or two pieces at a time. (That's what I did with my Valentines' day candy!) But you DO know my favorite all time candy is out now....right?? *drool* Cadburry Cream Eggs!

Oh that's the pits. I also get gestational diabetes, but I have never had to do the shots, just strict diet control was enough for me. I can't imagine the shots, you poor thing!! So here's the Friday question: Do the shots hurt and do you ever get numb to so many pricks?
Elena:
The shots actually don't hurt a bit! I guess I can thank my fat belly for something! *snicker* If I poke it just right I don't even feel it at all!
My fingers do hurt every once in a while from the finger pricks, but I've been given a little poker thingy (don't ask me the name of it...cuz I REALLY don't remember!) that allows me to poke my arm, which is completely painless. Plus, the new monitor they gave me takes a LOT less blood than the last one that I had. So all in all, it's not TOO bad!

Dawnyel,I have been visiting your site for awhile and finally decided to add a comment. (Oh by the way, I am in your ward. We used to do play group together. Remember?!) Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am to hear about the g.d. I got it somewhat with Lily, but didn't have to do all that junk. However, I feel for you about the finger pricking. My mom is diabetic and has to do that. Her fingers have finally calloused after many years of this but she says it still hurts sometimes. Maybe you will be lucky and this will all go away when the little one comes. Good luck!
Jewelle:
HI JEWELLE!!! (Yes, I do remember you! I didn't know you were into blogging as well!)

I'm glad that the shots are working for you! Some people are able to take a pill instead that helps control their blood sugar. Is that an option for you?
Anne:
They never gave me that option, so I had no idea it was even available! :P I guess I can just stick with what works. The shots REALLY don't hurt!! :)

Bummer about the insulin shots, I was wondering how your body would react to being preggo and having PCOS/IR at the same time. What are the risks to the baby? Tell your mom I hope she heals very quickly, Kimby misses her! If you could take Cam anywhere for Spring Break, where would it be? Where would you have liked to go during Spring Break during high school? (Unlimited supply of whatever you would need for this trip!)
Kim:
Usually there aren't many risks to the baby when mom has PCOS/IR. I think the mom does have a higher likelihood of developing GD though, but don't quote me on that.
If I could take Cam anywhere for Spring Break, I'd probably try to take him to Steve's grandparent's farm again. We had SUCH a good time the last time we were there. And they aren't getting any younger, so it's another perk there. But this year, all our money is being put aside for our big family reunion trip in August to Arizona. So no Northern Idaho for us this year! :(
If I could have gone anywhere in high school during Spring Break, I probably would have picked Canada (yeah, back then we all know WHY I would have picked that...) But if I were to pick NOW where I could have gone while in high school, I probably would pick Australia. There's it's JUST cooling off for fall, and I've always wanted to go there! :)

Wow....I have TONS to Answer! ;)

1. Is the stomach bug going around down there? EVERYONE i getting it here.. and me, just in time for the weekend. Blech.
2. What is your favorite kind of flower(s)? I'm all about "think spring!"
Melzie:
1. Yes, in fact, Cam has just come down with the crud tonight. Poor boy! I was HOPING to go to a cool Stake meeting tomorrow, but I guess I'll be staying home with the sick kid! :( (Hope YOU get feeling better soon!)
2. I have decided that I don't really have a "favorite" flower. I love them ALL!! This week Steve bought be a beautiful bouquet of mums and daisies. I think a good mix of flowers is my favorite. If I could plant ANY flowers in my little patch of ground, and have it survive my crazy neighborhood, I'd probably love to have a rosebush, and pansies. Pansies always make me smile! :)

If there was one talent you wish you had, or could even perfect, what would it be?
Kim:
I wish I had the talent for speaking in public. I can talk in small groups, but in larger groups I feel like I'm just a little squeak in the group. I would love to be more eloquent and phrase my thoughts better than I do. (That's one thing my family LOVES to poke fun at....my lousy speech!)

What do you take for a headache??
Did you get snow today like we did?
What is Pi squared?
What's your favorite pie filling?
Scrappy:
I take a long nap for a headache.
We did get some snow tonight....it was so pretty too!
I have NO idea about math questions....I'll have to ask my brother. (Honestly, I'm the English person, and he's the math guru!)
I love pumpkin or banana cream pies! Mmmmmmm! :P

Are you going crazy shopping for baby? Do you have a name picked out? Have you answered these before and I have just missed it because I suck? And do you use word verification because you hate us? ;)
Rachelle:
Have you rejoined the blogging world? ;)
I am doing some fun shopping for little boy. We've been trying to stock up on church clothes for the little one, since church clothes are only out 2 times a year (Christmas time and Easter time). So far we've got two cute outfits for him, but we're still on the lookout. We've also been looking for a decent crib, car seat, swing, and standing bouncy seat. So far, we've got clothes....yet to find those big ticket items.
We do have a name picked out. If you look above my little baby avatar countdown thingy (I don't know what to call it...) We've decided to call our new little boy Jacob. :)
I don't know if I've answered these before....honestly, I've got preggo brain BAD! :P
I use word verification because once upon a time I had a TON of comments, but they were all from some advertising place...yup, I was bombarded by computer crap! :P I hate comments that aren't personal, so I want to see if you are human....if you can do the word verification, then you pass! ;)

If you're STARVING, and all you have is ketchup, what do you do?
Aimee:
Uh, ketchup?? I guess I'd try to boil it and make a mock tomato soup. (If I were Cameron, I'd just eat it straight from the bottle!)

Did you do anything fun for V-day? If not(or even if), what do you wish you could have done?
Elena:
We did a lot of nothing really. Steve had a split shift (it wasn't SUPPOSED to be that way...) so we ended up going out to lunch and then spending the night at home.
I don't know if I wish we could have done something different, really. I'm such a simple girl. I guess the only thing that I would have changed would be maybe to have watched a romantic movie together....
Otherwise, we did what I enjoy doing! :)

Do you have a favorite maternity outfit? How often do you wear it? And can we see a picture?
Sketchy:
I love all of my stretchy clothes (not necessarily "maternity" clothing) I happen to be wearing my favorite outfit, but it's covered in chocolate (Cam ate some and then drooled on me!) I wear it at LEAST once a week (I have to rotate ALL of my clothes that often anymore tho...) Here's some OLD pics of me wearing the outfit, but you HAVE to realize, I took these as "belly" shots....and I took them using my "redneck" mirrors (it's 1 foot by 1 foot mirrors glued to the wall to make a larger mirror....don't laugh...we DIDN'T put them in!!)

Any crazy cravings as of yet?
Are you finding out the gender of your little one?
do you secretly hope for one gender more than the other?
Amy:
Crazy cravings?? Not really, just random ones...the kind that hit in the middle of the night!
We HOPE to find out on Monday what we're having...as long as the baby cooperates (so far, whenever I touch the outside of my belly to feel it move, it stops....must be a shy child!)
I secretly hope for another boy...just because I know boys and I don't think I could handle the emotional drama a girl brings!

What is your bedtime routine like?
Do you use mouthwash? What kind?
Are you ready for the warmer weather already?
What do you and your love muffin have planned for Valentines?
Scrappy:
My bedtime routine is pretty off from what it is NON-preggo....I wait until close to midnight (yes, midnight) and take my prenatal vitamin, a folic acid pill, watch tv while Steve snores away, and then I go to sleep. I don't do a LOT, but it's my routine!
I hate mouthwash.....so I don't use it.
I wish it was spring, although, I've learned that with spring comes camping fever for me....and I can't go camping until later on in the summer....*bummed*
I don't have much planned for Valentines' day....because Steve is performing in his play that night....we'll probably watch a video or something and fall asleep....we're so romantic! :S

How's Cam reacting to the idea of the new baby?
How did you tell him and how did he react?
Sketchy:
Cam's SO thrilled with the idea of becoming a big brother. Apparently he's told EVERYONE that we're having a baby brother....so we'll see whether he's right or wrong on Monday! He prays for it nightly, and asks me if he can change diapers and help with feedings. He's SO excited!
I didn't really "tell" him that we were having a baby, he overheard me. I was talking to Carrie on the phone about it, and he asked me when I had hung up who was having a baby. I told him it was me, he was SO excited THEN that he wrapped his arms around me and gave me a huge hug. He's been thrilled ever since!! :)

Have you ever thought about what life would be like had snow shoes never been invented?
mattsmom:
Uh, not really....I, personally, don't use them, so I don't really ever *think* about them....
Does that make me a bad person!?
