Totally Random
- Last night I woke up from a nightmare! I dreamed that someone told me that they were going to kill me by lethal injection today at 1:00 pm. I woke up thinking it was an omen, so I had to calm myself down before falling back to sleep. When I told Steve about it, he said, "I'm sorry," then he left for work. Thanks for caring, honey! :P
- My grandpa is now moving back here. He's been living with my Uncle Ben since July. He's not been happy (but he won't be happy unless he's living in his house WITH my grandma alive again....) He's staying with my aunt right now, and when my mom and aunt took him to a local assisted facility he asked if he could move in RIGHT then. They've started doing the paperwork that he needs done so that he can live there. I'm actually really excited for this. Personally, I think he should have been living in an assisted facility since Grandma died.
- Cameron has become quite the ornery night guy. We've been waking him up so that he can potty at night and last night he threw a HUGE tantrum. He flopped on the floor in front of the bathroom and REFUSED to go. He kept whining about how tired he was. Even if HE requests the wake-up-call, he still whines!
- Jake is crawling more and more. Instead of a wounded soldier, it's more of a push-up type crawl. It's almost like he's an inch-worm. He still gets frustrated though. If he wants one of us to pick him up, he'll throw his arms and legs up and cry out. He's also picked up a piggy oinking from Cameron. ONE time, Cameron shows him and he's picked it up! Seriously, Jake is going to excel vocally!!
- Steve hasn't seen all of the fun boy pictures we took the other day. He was working and since we don't have a computer at home to view the pictures, he still hasn't seen them all. I asked him if he wanted to go with me to Walmart to pick out a picture to turn into the newspaper for "Born in 2008" but he said he trusted my judgement. After I printed off the picture and turned it in the lady at the front desk at the newspaper kept saying, "Oh, what a cute picture...." I think she said it like 3 or 4 times! I definitely picked the right picture! When I got home, Steve asked if I'd printed off more pictures for him to take to work. I hadn't, but said I could make more copies today. I took them to him at work today and he seemed pleased. I can't wait until he sees them all though!
- My high score on this game is 574.9! :)

Interview of a Lifetime
1. Do you like blue cheese?

2. Have you ever smoked?
Only second-hand. :P ICK!

Do water guns count? Oh, well, then no.
4. What flavor Kool-Aid was your favorite?
Black Cherry. And what do you mean “was??”
5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments?
Only dentist appointments. Regular doctors don’t bother me much.
6. What do you think of hot dogs?
Eartho-bate. Isn’t that another term for worms?? One time my mom and brother found “eartho-bate” listed as one of the ingredients in hot dogs. Um….haven’t quite been the same since. But I do still eat them…I just don’t try to think about it.
7. Favorite Christmas movie?
Either The Santa Clause (the original) or Elf.
8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
Milk
9. Can you do push ups?
Can, but don’t.
10. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry?
I love my wedding ring, and, besides my watch, it’s the only jewelry I wear ALL the time.
11. Favorite hobby?
Reading. I’ve just finished the last installment of the Twilight series for the second time. I think I need a new book to read. These ones are giving me vampire nightmares!
12. Do you have ADD?
Um….I think I might, but I’ve never been diagnosed….
13. Do you wear glasses/contacts?
Both. In fact, while we were on our vacation to Arizona I accidentally rolled on top of my glasses, breaking off the temple piece (the part that goes behind your ear…) and I’m still wearing them around. Can you say LOSER? *giggle*
14. Middle name?
Marie.
15. Name three thoughts at this exact moment.
I have such a cute baby…
My boob kinda hurts.
I want chocolate ice cream.
16. Name three drinks you regularly drink.
Ice water, water, milk. (Yeah, I’m boring….)

Politics. Actually, I’ve ALWAYS hated politics, but with the conventions going on, I’m going NUTS!

Camping with my family.
20. How did you bring in the New Year?
Sleeping. I don’t even really remember celebrating it. Ugh, I’m getting old!
21. Where would you like to go?
I’d love to go to Europe. It’s a goal that I have to visit there sometime before I die. (Nice on the deadlines with my goals too!)
22. Name three people who will complete this.
Um….who knows! I’m not even sure I have anyone who really reads my blog anymore. I’ve gotten so lazy with it….
23. Do you own slippers?
Um….refer to THIS post!
24. What shirt are you wearing?
A white button down thing that I bought before we went to Arizona. I thought I would wear it with my cute skirt, but then I found another one I liked better.
25. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets?
Never have….but I have issues with sheets right now anyway. Anyone else have them come untucked while trying to sleep/roll around?? So annoying!
26. Can you whistle?
I swear I can’t, but then sometimes, when I’m trying to PROVE that I can’t, I do. So I guess I can, but I can’t control the pitch of it. In fact, if my mouth is just right, I can whistle through a teeny hole in the roof of my mouth!
27. Favorite color?
Green. Deep green is best, but any green is good.
28. Would you be a pirate?
No, too much work!
29. What songs do you sing in the shower?
If I sing in the shower, I make up my own random tunes. “La da dee dum….”
30. Favorite girl’s name?

Broken tailbone…..I’ve broken it at least twice, maybe three times. There’s nothing you can do to fix a broken butt! :P
36. Do you love where you live?
Absolutely. We live where there’s very little in the way of greenery, but the mountains aren’t far from here, and I LOVE the fact that *usually* we get all 4 seasons of the year. (This year there was no spring. It jumped from Winter to Summer….UGH!)
37. How many televisions do you have in your house?
Two. Now, ask me how many computer monitors I have….go on, ask me!

I'm Posting Pictures....Guess What That Means!!
Here's my random picture post of the last week!! :)
This is my parents' motor home. It's HUGE!! On the ouside you can see that they've pulled out the outdoor kitchen! There's a teeny fridge, grill, and sink. It's SO cool!!

Cameron had to be a pill...as usual! :P
There was a jet flying overhead and Cam wanted the jet to hear him, so he yelled at it! As loudly as he possibly could!
The boys played Mario Kart Wii nearly the entire time. Cam was using the steering wheel (which is stinkin' hard to use, by the way...) and was leaning clear over! It was quite the sight!
This is Steve's birthday. He is proudly displaying his mini-cake....it was SO yummy!!

This is the cake my friends brought to the GNO! It was chocolate with bavarian cream inside....SOOOOOO yummy!!

Tidbits
- Steve just got the lead in a play. (Which I could have SWORN he told me he wasn't going to be doing again...) And he owes me BIG TIME!! The play is in a dinner theater and it will play in February....we believe.
- Cameron isn't immune to potty training stuff. Sunday, during choir practice....RIGHT before church (10 minutes or so) he came up to me and said, "Mama, I pooped." UGH!! I had to grab him and drag the kid home to change him. IT was NOT fun!! He even needed a quickie bath before returning!! ICK!
- Thanks to Cam's "adventure" on Sunday, we had a little learning experience on the Sacrament....since we were late enough to miss it.
- I'm now a saleswoman. I'm really excited for this new opportunity!! I've been saying I was going to do this for about 6 months now, and it's official!! YAY!!
- The doctor has prescribed me blood pressure medicine with some side-effects. On the label it says: "May Cause Dizziness or Drowsiness." Uh.....I think I have the drowsiness one DOWN!! (I've been sleeping 5 hours straight, DURING the day!!)
- I've also been waking up WAY early because when Steve leaves, I'm uncomfortable. Yesterday, I worried about financial things, then today I realized that Scouts is tomorrow, and I didn't have my things put together!! Thankfully, all is well in that department.
- Finally, I'm a slacker when it comes to reading other people's blogs. Holy smokes. I really apologize!! I do love reading them, but I'm just.....never mind....I was going to TRY to excuse myself, but I realized, it's NOT worth it!! :P

Change is in the Air
- My sister and her husband have found a job, and because of that job they're moving FAR FAR away. Like to the middle of nowhere Nevada. Which I think just stinks, like smelly cheese!! I don't see the girl NOW, and she only lives 2 and a half hours away, can you imagine the 10 or so hour drive NOW!? I just hope they survive and perhaps even THRIVE there!
- I bit the bullet, and got my OWN cell phone! Steve's usually had control over the ONE that we DID have, but with our contract being up, we decided that it was time that I got a phone too. I think I may mostly use it to call Steve when I need to talk to him.
- My house smells MARVELOUS again! I had a party, of sorts, for this FAB company who sells wickless candles. I bought their stuff earlier in the year, and found that I loved it, but they didn't last very long. So I had a "basket party," where I took the little tester scents around with me for a while, letting everyone I know smell the stuff....and voila! I earned TONS of free stuff, and now have about 15 different scents....and people who know me and love me asking if I could maybe start selling the stuff myself....And I'm thinking about it!
- One of my many cousins, but one of my favorite cousins, just got married a month ago, she told us that she just found out she's pregnant! I'm just SO happy for her, I can't hardly stand it!
- We took a home-buyer's class, and have decided that in the best interest of ourselves (*hee hee*) we're going to put home-shopping on the back burner until next year. Hopefully by then the market will be flooded with homes that will appeal to both of us!
- It's family reunion season. For us that means spending the moolah, to not really get much. We're supporting the reunion, but usually, we don't win any of the fun auctions, raffles, or bingo games. This year, was different. We spent a total of $17 and won: a box of Otter-type popcicles, a tv plug in game, a little LCD flashlight, and a Nintendo DS with a game and an expansion pack! We feel so lucky!! :D
- And the Harry Potter series is over. I was sad to see it go, but LOVED the final installment. I just wish there was more coming! *sigh*

That's What's On My Mind
Speaking of day camp, I'm stressing out!! I've never been, but I hear that it's SO well run, that I won't have to really do anything. But I did dream about it all night long! The annoying thing is that I have a TON of forms to fill out so we CAN go. I HATE paperwork!! But it's all taken care of, and I have nothing to worry about, right!? ;)
I want to shoot my neighbor kids....last night they lit off fireworks. First off, fireworks are officially illegal after midnight on the 5th of July. Second, they lit the flying ones off, IN OUR ALLEY!! I watched them bounce off two cars parked back there, and watched as they nearly flew into my bedroom window.....I screamed at them to "Knock it off." And the ruckus stopped, but if there's ANY more tonight, I'm calling the cops!!
And on a "hmmmm....that's random" note, my parents FINALLY kicked my younger, druggie brother out of their house. Not that they don't love him, but they've had it with the stuff he's pulled. The man is 26, and it was TIME for him to grow up and move out! I just hope he cleans up his act quickly. When my dad informed him of the decision, he packed his things, throwing them around the room he's been sharing with my OTHER brother, threw his luggage around, and slammed many doors. I will DEFINITELY keep that kid in my prayers!!

Random Things...Seven to be Exact....
Blackeyedsue tagged me for a 7 random things meme. Oh, how I love randomness...it's my LIFE!
- I keep piles of things around my house. Yes, I'm a major pack-rat, and I think, "If I toss this, I'll need it tomorrow..." But I'm also SUPER lazy, so I have a pile of garbage behind my nightstand...(old candy wrappers and stuff....)
- My second toe is longer than my big toe. Yes, in Shallow Hal when they bashed that one woman for having the long second toe, I was offended. But personally, I think my tootsies are cute!
- I love to watch cooking shows, but I HATE cooking. Watching them just makes me feel like I'm doing something productive, when in reality, I'm not. (Rachael Ray, Giada DeLaurentis, Paula Dean and Alton Brown are some of my FAVS!)
- I ripped my bra last night when I was getting ready for bed. NO, I'm not super woman, it was an old bra, and I was in a hurry to yank it off. (I HATE wearing bras!! If I didn't need one so badly, I'd go without!)
- I have a highly sensitive sense of smell. My family has been known to ask me if something smells "off." I'm constantly reminded of this "gift" every day. Last night, my reminder came when I was trying to satisfy my thirst and I smelled my water...it smelled like fish! EW! I tried to drink as fast as I could so I wouldn't smell it...
- I love to stay up late and watch Family Guy on Adult Swim. Yes, it's a crude show...filled with farts, burps and sex talk, but it's FUNNY! Last night I stayed up and watched it while eating my Halloween candy. (Yeah, I still have a HUGE bowlful!)
- I'm all about keeping things simple. My wedding reception is a good example. It was in my parents' house, using borrowed things, a simple wedding cake, and minimal decorations. BUT, my sister's reception was OVER the TOP! My mom would comment to me about how much easier my reception was...but its because we're different creatures. (Not one better than the other, just different!) If it's simple and nice, I'm ALL for it! :)

A Jumbled Mess
I learned SO much from this book. It's the true story of a mother, her daughter and the slime of a man who kidnapped the daughter twice! It talks about a pedophile who brainwashed a little girl into thinking that what she was doing was right and that he was a wonderful person. On one hand it scared me. I can't even fathom some creep coming up with these CRAZY ideas...on the other I was fascinated with how the parents handled everything. I hope that I NEVER have to go through this situation, but if I do, I'm better educated and know what is right and what is NOT!
Today we had a mini family vacation, in our own back yard! (Well, not literally, but close enough!) We had decided that for my husband's "weekend" from work we'd do some family bonding. So today we decided to go to the local zoo and have a picnic. We had a ball! It wasn't nearly as hot as it was yesterday, so the weather cooperated with us and it was so nice to just hang out as a family! One of my other friends went yesterday, and thanks to her I got the heads up on what was new. There were SEVERAL new babies in the exhibits and we had fun trying to find them. We went through the ENTIRE zoo in about an hour and a half. Cam kept dragging us around from exhibit to exhibit. His absolute FAVORITE was the monkey house. There were these gibbons (we call them monkeys) and one was just thoroughly entertained by the people watching him...I actually felt like we were the ones on display for him! Anyway, he would swing from perch to perch and he liked to rub up against the glass and scare little kids. He was hilarious. I think if I were a monkey I'd do the same thing! But we had fun.
We ended up watching an animal thing where they brought the animals to us and let us see them. We thought it would be fun, until we heard that it was a special REPTILE thing. YUCK! I despise creepy crawlies, and snakes and lizards definitely fall into that category! They brought around a gecko and that was fine, it was still in the cage, but then they brought out the snakes....yes, TWO SNAKES!! They allowed anyone to pet the snakes if they wanted to and my son, the kid who freaks out over fluffy things flying through the air...the same kid who asks if there are spiders in our house...the very same kid who wants to know if there are snakes in every body of water we come across....THAT kid pet the snake! I was grossly proud and disgusted at the same time!
On the way out of the zoo, they have you exit through their gift shop. And of course, we're suckers for cutsie shirts and toys, so we spent extra moolah to please our already happy son. He got one of those monkey toys where the hands velcro together and they can hang from things. It looked a lot like the gibbon that entertained us so well. So the whole ride home our back seat was filled with screeches and howling. Needless to say, we had fun!
Then we ended up going to a local antique mall and browsed and dreamed. There were some really cute things there. I didn't think we'd be there that long, but I was wrong. We stayed there for over an hour. Then I wanted to try a local restaurant that is a throw-back to the 50's diner days. It was SO cute, but SO expensive. All in all, our day was fun! We laughed and enjoyed our time together in our own hometown.
One more topic I wish to cover before I leave for the night....Yesterday, my friend "L," who just had her baby and who's little girl I babysit, called and asked us a favor. They wanted to go down to the temple visitor's center and watch a movie. They didn't think that their daughter would be able to handle it, so they asked us if we could watch her for a couple of hours. They were going to take the baby...hoping he'd sleep through it, but they wanted to leave little "L" with us. I don't know what it was about that request, but it just made me feel like they were taking advantage of us. I've been watching little L off and on for a while, when they have doctor appointments and such, but this time I felt like they should take little L with them. They have her in church and she does fine...why can't they take her to this?? I guess I was just upset. How can I tell her that I don't want to watch their daughter any time they want some alone time? I just felt a little like a doormat. Don't get me wrong, I love them and want to help them, but this time I felt like it was a bit too much to ask. What should I say to her??

Things That Make Me Laugh
- I have a VERY small list of blogs that I frequently read. Yeah, I do actually read them too! I have links that lead to other larger lists if I ever get my fill of the amazing women I've met, but I don't have too many people who I wonder, worry, and pray for on a regular basis. It just makes me laugh to see such LONG lists. Where do people get the time!? :)
- Someone else put up an article from the Salt Lake Tribune. It's a great story, but I noticed as the page was loading that on THEIR (SLT, not the person's) sidebar they have a special thing for "polygamy." Don't ask me why that made me laugh out loud, but it did!
- Some people have the same warped sense of humor that I have. I've been reading other Seven memes and I have the same answers as many of them. How could so many people be as weird as me?? I LOVE IT!
- Some people are "remodeling" their blog pages. I've come to know them as a certain color or picture and then: *POOF!!* They're brand new! It's not that I don't LOVE the new changes, I do, but HOW IN THE WORLD DID THEY GET SO CREATIVE?? I mean, I'm still stuck with my original template...nothing new...maybe a new sidebar thing here and there, but that took me forever to figure those out! I would seriously MESS up my blog if I went messing with my template....some of you are just so much more talented than I am!! Either that, or I'm just content to be boring! (hee hee)
- I noticed as I commented on someone's post that I say pretty much the SAME thing everytime I comment! Okay, so I don't have a HUGE vocabulary, but, MAN!! I could come up with some NEW words for Pete's sake!! GOSH! Someone get me a thesaurus!
So that's it. I'm just here in my bedroom giggling at myself. I thought I'd share the laughter!

6 WEIRD Things You May NOT Want to Know
- As I mentioned in my previous blog....I'm my mother's daughter. And as such we both have a unique laugh that is easily recognizable in any large group setting. If I'm ever in a movie theater with my mom and we are not sitting together, I can easily find her if I hear her laugh! My laugh is a lot like hers and I'm okay with that!
- I have several oddities about my appearance. My ears are flat on top...they don't curl like most people's ears do. My second toe on my foot is about a half inch longer than my "big" toe. (That part in Shallow Hal where they talk about how disgusted they are by the girl with the long second toe made me feel a bit sad...I have the same affliction!) And I have a small pin-sized hole in the roof of my mouth that every once in a while will open and I can whistle through it! While I was talking with my mom tonight she reminded me of my most unusual physical feature...I have a branchial cyst on my neck. It looks like a bone sticking out of my neck. People would ask me about it all the time growing up and I'd take the comment from my younger brother..."I swallowed a chicken bone and it turned sideways and got stuck!" It gets them every time!
- As mentioned in one of my good friend's blogs, I have a tendency to dream instantly after falling asleep (or on my way to sleep!) I can almost just close my eyes and the dreams are there ready to go! (She found it VERY entertaining one night to see what I was dreaming about....it's there in her blog!)
- When I was in college my friends and I had a strange night where we showed off our "untalents." "Untalents" are those strange stupid-human tricks that you might not want to show off and I discovered one of my "untalents" is I can do Elvis Lips. My mother can do them both ways (to the right and the left) but I can only do them to the left.
- I have a strange love of anything with pigs in or on them. I think pigs are such cute animals and I have a small piggy collection. I will mention more about piggy things later when I have the pics to go with it! :)
- I am a Neptunian. Okay...there it is....out there for the world to read! While in high school my group of friends and I decided that we would claim Neptune as our "home" world. We had a leader and a hierarchy that made certain events fun! We each came up with our own Neptunian names and we had a wonderful mascot in the Super Wonder Whooper. Whenever we were bored or in need of entertainment we would make movies. After we graduated we made copies of them and each person in our group has one. As soon as one of the members of our group gets famous the videos will be out for the world to see our true colors! :) I WON'T be the one doing this...it's another friend who has claimed this right! I'm not upset over it...because I don't care, but there are others who might!
Well, that's it....6 strange things about me. I'm sure there's more, I mean, if you are a regular reader of my blog you already know this, but it was fun to share other strange things I probably wouldn't have admitted to!
Now I'm gonna tag a few more people...
