Putting Up a Fight
Is it worth it to pick battles that you know you can't win?? Please discuss....I'm having problems with a "fight" that I had the other night, and I'm wondering now, if what I even said, whined, cried about was EVEN worth it....

I had to laugh out loud, b/c I am assuming this fight was with Steve? We had one like that at our house this weekend and finally I just bit my toungue, gave up, and gave my hubby a kiss so that it was done and over with. (Although in my head, I know I'm still right. :) )
Okay, so the fight WAS with Steve. Thankfully we're NOT fighting anymore, but I'm still upset with what I said, and I'm wondering if any good will come from it. I asked him for a few changes, and I've yet to see any, but that doesn't mean that he hasn't been THINKING about what I said, ya know!?
You know... I'm pig headed.. and I think I'm always right, even when I'm not. HOWEVER, I know while tempers flare, that so long as I voice my opinions, then that's that. I'll stick to my guns, he to his, and that's it. I sometimes need to "run away" for a couple hours. By the time we come back together we're sorry, and all is well. :)
I'd say "no" at giving up a fight you know you won't win. I do believe there is a time and a place for everything, but if you stop letting a person know how you feel, eventually they will forget that it was important to you.
So maybe a gentle nudge reminder once in awhile, but not giving up on what you want/need. JMHO! Good luck, Dawnyel! ***hugs***
