I'm having such a hard time adjusting to my new life. Jake wants to be held ALL the TIME!! How can I get anything done when I've got a squishy attached to me? (So I don't get ANYTHING DONE!! Hence my jammie appearance at 1:00 in the afternoon!)
Cameron seemed to have been doing well, but the kid is regressing! He wants me to dress him, feed him, hold him, carry him....basically treat him like a baby! That just isn't gonna work when I've got an actual baby who needs me. We remind Cam that he's the BIG brother, and hope that works, but it doesn't always!
I get nervous around strangers now. Anyone who wants to see my baby is welcome....as long as I know you and invite you to see him. If I don't know you...I don't want you all up in my baby's face!! I can't tell you the number of times I've had to shoo away nosy neighbor girls wanting to be IN his face!! UGH!
I do love this life, but it's going to take some hard adjusting at first....I hope!

Yeah I hear ya on the regressing. Matthew was 19 mo old when Thomas was born and Thomas was 22mo when Samantha was born so I enlisted them to help me. "can you be the BIG boy and get me a diaper/paci/wipes for the baby" and that really helped them feel needed.
Oh, yes, every baby comes with that adjustment period for the whole family. It will get better, though!
Congratulations, btw, I haven't been "on the ball" with checking blogs but I'm (finally) getting back into the swing of things (now the baby is 2 months old!)
Boy, can I relate!!! I thought Tanner would have the hardest time adjusting, but it was ME who had the hard time. Tanner sometimes acts like the baby, but then I have to 'enlist' him, like Anne said. I'm embarrassed to say that I still don't have it figured out totally - and Taylor is already six months old! It is slowly comming, and I know it will for you, too! Meanwhile, it's kinda nice to just vent on your blog or to friends!
Oh...You really are not alone in this. It took me so long to figure out how to be a mom to two kids. I didn't go anywhere alone with the kids until Sadie was a couple of months old. You really can do it. It is hard. But YOU CAN DO IT! LOVE YA!
Hey, you're doing great. Kate is
2 1/2 and I am just NOW feeling like I can get back to "normal". (Whatever normal is.) Just be sure to give Cam lots of praise for every little thing he does and then he'll realize you are excited about him too. Hang in there, you'll make it.
Could you try a sling? I am about to find out how difficult it is to hold a baby and get anything done for Miss A or myself. I'm planning on getting a sling and wearing the baby a lot.
I am also expecting the regressing. A has already started actually because I know she knows it's coming. After the baby comes I'm sure it will be more intense...
