Back, But Not Quite....

Camping was great. It rained pretty much the whole weekend, but that was fine...I was in the motor-home the whole time! ;) (I even have beautiful pictures of where we ended up camping and the motor-home, but I can't share them now....I'll explain why in a minute!) I had contractions the whole time, but they weren't steady or regular. It was just a pain! (Literally!) I laughed and just had a great time!
Coming home was GREAT! I can't believe how much I missed my honey! Just seeing him daily makes me smile! I really wish HE could have gone with us, but dang work...
Anyway, the reason I may not be around so much is for a couple of reasons.....
1) Uh, I'm about to pop with this baby. I feel HUGE! (I'll post pics when I can...seriously, I've got QUITE the gut!) Walking around is a miserable endeavor, but it's still doable. If I do too much I end up having those contractions that I really don't need....and it's just not fun. So for the most part, I stay off my feet and relax. You can understand that, right?!
2) Our computer is STILL out of commission. The spyware is so ingrained into the computer that someone has to manually go in and take it off. The two computer places we trust in town quoted us at $200 and $170....ICK!! But Steve told me that our WONDERFUL home teacher said he'd do it for free. Honestly, can you love anyone more?! So when the computer IS fixed I will post more! I promise! Until then, I've got to sneak quick peeks at my parents' house or the library! POO!!

GAAAAAAH!!!

Okay, major complaint coming up.....I HATE spyware!! AND spyware pretending to be anti-spyware!! I may have to freakin' clean out my whole stinkin' computer!! WHY!?!! :(
And after much internal debating, I've decided to go camping. My parents have an amazing motor home that will serve me well....equipped with a/c and even has 4 televisions. Yeah, it's not much like "camping" more like going on vacation. :)
My doctor did tell me to make sure and take it easy....guess what! I plan on it!

What a DAY!

I hate trying to figure out what's wrong with my electrical things! :P
Yesterday, while I was in the midst of running around, I stopped home on a whim, and while upstairs I sniffed an unusual smell....that STINKY electrical smell that sometimes happens when electrical appliances get too hot. (Kinda an ozonie smell...) So, thinking I was SUPER smart...I unplugged EVERYTHING!
Now, fast forward to tonight....my computer screen is SMOOSHED!! It's aggravating!! :P
Guess, it's time to google it! Do you think I'll find my answers??
Oh, and on a funny side-note...Scouts didn't happen AGAIN this week...everyone forgot! :D (You can tell how FREAKIN' SAD I am!! LOL)

Beep, Beep, Beep!

Computer update!
My brother dismantled my computer and took it to my mom's house where he did something with the video card (which we hadn't used until recently) and poof! It worked JUST like it had before! Miracle of miracles! I really wasn't looking forward to reinstalling EVERYTHING, and now we won't! He said the video card was one that had given him problems before, so he's sending it back to the people he bought it from. Maybe they'll fix it THIS time, but then again, maybe not. Either way, I'm glad to have my computer back to normal! (Well, once we finish downloading some extra stuff, it will be back to normal!)
The winner today is my good friend (IN REAL LIFE)
Kim! Or as we like to call her, Kimby!
She guessed the songs were The 12 days of Christmas, Do you Hear what I hear?, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. But she's one of those smart teacher-ladies...so it's RIGHT up her alley! She's so SMART!
I've decided not to play my game on the weekends, but I'll do it today (cuz it's Friday!)
The rules are: I'm going to post mixed up titles to Christmas Carols and you, my dear readers, get to guess the songs. The first one to guess gets their name put up with a link to their blog...well, only if they want! And then they get the pride of knowing mixed up songs!
Okay, enough of my rambling words...
Song #1: Stepping on the pad cover
Song #2: Far back in the hay bin
Song #3: Leave and do an elevated broadcast
Good luck!

Crash! Boom! Bang!

My computer has bit the dust, aka: CRASHED! I'm so sad! And I didn't even realize all of the stuff we had stored there until we can't have it anymore!
The computer WAS fixed on Wednesday, but last night Steve just TOUCHED the thing and it messed up! Poor guy now has a complex! Anyway, my brother came over (again) and tried to restore it and it never came back! And after I had spent HOURS reorganizing all of my music! I'm so sad....did I mention that?!
So he told us that on his day off he'd come over and reinstall Windows and all of the other things we had. Until then I'm using someone else's computer! WAAAAAH!
Well, we had SEVERAL correct guesses on the funny little game I've been playing, but I'm only going to put up ONE winner this time! (Sorry, Carrie!)
The winner was Suzanne! She's been getting on the winners' list for this game since the first day! WAY TO GO! (I would put up my funny little award here, but I'm on a computer that doesn't understand what I'm trying to do!)
The songs from yesterday were: All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth, It Came upon a Midnight Clear, and Joy to the World.
The rules again are: I'm going to put up mixed up titles to Christmas songs and you get to guess it. If you are the FIRST to correctly guess the songs I'll put your name up with a link to your blog. (Not a huge award, but when I get the computer fixed...I'm all over putting up that funny little award I created!)
Good luck!
Song #1:
288 Yuletide hours
Song #2:
Do you perceive the same longitudinal pressure which simulates my auditory sense organs?
Song #3:
The red-suited pa is due in this burg
And one more thing: a quick shout-out to the ESD! Long time no think about him! *hee hee*

Frustration with the Big Kids and the Little Ones

I wanted to shoot my husband, but I didn't! Yesterday he pretty much had complete control over our computer. (I know, I should SHARE!) Anyway, he took a digital picture of our Christmas tree and tried to set it as our wallpaper for our computer, but he had the resolution TOO high, and messed it all up! All of a sudden we had a message telling us that our computer (or whatever) was out of range. So I called my little brother, who originally put our computer together for us, and I whined to him. He came right over (even though it was 10:30 at night) and fixed my problem! I guess I shouldn't be so frustrated over the whole situation, but I am. Because my little brother came over, he reconfigured everything, and now my screen is totally WEIRD! Ugh! I'm such a "everything-has-to-be-the-same-girl!" :PThis is our cute, little Christmas tree....we're someday hoping to get a bigger, better one....that's PRE-LIT!
Then today I did the whole mama/teacher thing at Cam's school. Usually they do centers, but since last week was so short, they finished up their centers yesterday, and began some testing today. Mrs. K asked me if I could help with testing, and I figured I could. It was NOT as easy as I had thought! We were testing two kids at once, with multiple people giving tests at the same time. The kids were EASILY distracted, and tried to copy off of their neighbor's paper. Even if they had the right answer and noticed that the person next to them had put something else, they'd change their answer! I just wanted to scream out, "NO! You had it right! Don't change it!" but then I remember that I was pretty much the same way when I was that age. I remember being in a spelling bee in the first grade. I was supposed to spell "front" and I spelled it correctly, but when the teacher asked me to respell it, I thought I had messed up and spelled it a DIFFERENT way. Another kid in the class pointed out that I had spelled it right the first time, but since I had changed my mind, I was wrong. From that time on, I decided that I would stick with my FIRST instinct, even if it was wrong, because it COULD be correct. Anyway, back to today...the kids in Cameron's class kept looking to me for confirmation of their answers, but all I could really do was ask them if they thought it was right. It was SO hard, especially with my whole OCD going on, but I did it! I'm so proud of me! *patting self on the back*
And now for the results of my game from yesterday! Yay to Carrie and Suzanne for guessing the songs. Neither one knew BOTH, but they each knew ONE! (You guys are SO funny!) The answers to #4 and #5 were Silent Night and Noel. Both cheesy, but I found both very funny!
The rules to my funny game: you have to figure out the mixed up titles to these Christmas songs and I'll put up a link to your blog and make my fancy, dancy award say YOUR name! (I know you're ALL DYING for that!)
Song #6: Present me naughty but dual incisors for this festive Yuletide
Song #7: The smog-less bewitching hour arrived
Song #8: Exuberation to this orb
Good luck!

Life's Lessons Learned

I’ve learned a couple of things after yesterday’s babysitting adventure: 1) I may be able to handle caring for 3 kids, but not more than that...for a while. 2) I have a very helpful son, and little L is helpful as well, but not necessarily at the same time. 3) I’m really glad I was at my mom’s house so that she could help me out! It’s nice that baby E is still so young that he doesn’t really do more than eat, sleep, poop and fuss every once in a while, but when I have to take care of him, the other two jump right in and nearly stomp on the poor kid’s head. There were a couple of near fatal collisions. Fatal, because I was gonna kill the older ones for stomping the youngest one into the ground. But they were good and I think I was fairly good too. I’m just really glad that I don’t have 3 kids 24 hours a day.
I’m having some annoying computer problems. I have tried running my anti-spyware programs, but this message keeps popping up that I have an unsafe connection. It’s getting annoying! I’m hoping that my younger brother can help me figure it out...without destroying my computer completely! (He’s been known to do that before!) Anytime I’m on the internet for more than a few minutes it kicks me off! It tells me that some other program is using my modem (okay, so I have a SLOW dial-up connection, but it’s all I’ve got!) So I went through their whole thing trying to figure out what was wrong, but I’m still getting annoying results. So for my two friends I kept attempting to IM last night, I apologize for my stoopid computer. I’m sorry. Maybe we could talk another time...if I can get this to work again!! But for now, I’m trying to do as much as I can online WITHOUT signing into my two favorite IMs! (Like right now, I’m typing up my blog in WordPerfect and completely offline....much less annoying than trying to work with blogger!)
Cameron has such an imagination sometimes. Today he begged me to make his bed and I was confused. Since I’m a LAID back mommy, I don’t enforce bed-making (I don’t even make my own bed most days...) So I was wondering what he was talking about. So I took him in his room and showed him how to do it, so that someday he’ll learn to do it on his own. After making his bed, he asked me to make his bed into a tent. When we bought his BIG bed last year, we thought it would be nice to think ahead. We were hoping that by this time we’d have another child, but we still don’t. Anyway, so when we bought the bed, we bought the kid a bunk bed. Every once in a while I’ll take some extra blankets and drape them over his bunk and make a "tent" on his bottom bunk. So I took his blankets and tucked them nicely around and made him a tent. Then as I was trying to type up this post, the boy came into my room begging for toys off of the top bunk. He’s got the hang of going UP the ladder, but he can’t quite figure out DOWN. So I helped him and came back. Needless to say, I’ve been back and forth between the two rooms about 20 times now. I just went in there to take a picture of his "tent" and he was kneeling in front of his bed with his trucks and NO BLANKETS!! What!? I did all of that work and now they’re piled up on the floor! I asked him what happened and he told me that he didn’t want a tent. I think he’s just trying to keep me moving and active. What a kid!!
*********************
Now for my singing time tomorrow. The songs are going to be review songs: 'Dearest Children, God is Near You', 'Scripture Power', 'I Know my Father Lives', 'Follow the Prophet', 'Holding Hands Around the World', and 'Did Jesus Really Live Again?' As we sing the songs, I’ve prepped a teacher (our only male teacher) on what to do. I’m going to give him a cheap tie that he’ll wear to church. I’m going to have him come up and "judge" the kids on their singing. I’m going to give him some score cards. I’ll find a happy face or something nice for good singing, and a frowny face or something icky for not so good singing. If he gives the kids a good review, then we’re going to cut off pieces of his tie. He’s going to react to the cutting like he does NOT want it cut...it’s his favorite tie...etc... I’ve done this in the past with 2 judges and we have the room compete one side versus the other side. But then I find that I want to reward both sides, and I don’t really cut the ties evenly...plus the price of cheap ties at DI has gone up. I used to be able to buy each tie for a dollar, now the price is closer to $3-5! So I’m trying to save myself some money, and have the kids work TOGETHER with their singing. It’s going to be fun. They sing their BEST whenever I play this game. It makes me wish that I could do this during the sacrament meeting program, but I know that it’s too irreverent! It’s just something fun I try to do at least once a year, and so far, it’s been Fathers’ Day BOTH times! I’m excited for it!

The Joys of Life

I'm very frustrated right now. For the past few days a message has been popping up on our computer when we log onto the internet. It tells us that some "free" trial that we apparently signed up for has expired and now we are obligated to pay the fee and sign up completely with this company for the full experience of their product. That's CRAP! My husband and I are the only people who use our computer and NEITHER of us even know what this software is supposed to be for. Now, in order for us to remove the stuff from our computer we HAVE to buy their product. I've tried telling the company online that we never ordered their stuff, but they said that it doesn't matter...we have to buy the product as agreed upon when we downloaded their product. WE NEVER ORDERED IT!! Is there any way I can complain to a REAL person and not just to some message center that will redirect my complaints to some message that tells me that I'm TOL (Tough Out of Luck)?! I think I will talk with my husband when he gets home and see what he thinks. I wish I could just complain to a person and not to the non-existent human interaction all knowing message board! ARGH!!
Okay, onto my funny story from this weekend. It has similarities to a
post I've done previously that was pretty disgusting, so I will warn those who get easily disgusted to not read the rest of this post.
Okay, have we gotten rid of those prudes who think that accidents don't really happen?? I'll wait for a few seconds to get rid of them......are they gone? Good, here goes:
I was at a wedding luncheon on Saturday for one of my cousins. He and his new bride were just beaming with that new-love glow and I was having an enjoyable conversation with my grandparents, my mom, and my brothers. I had brought Cameron, but he had reacquainted himself with my cousin's daughter and they were roaming the church playing in every unlocked room they could find. I was beginning to worry when I didn't hear crashing, running feet, or the usual kid-noises. Soon we were laughing and joking around when my cousin's daughter came up to me and said in a very matter-of-fact voice, "Your son pooped his pants."
The first thing that ran through my mind was, 'Oh, no!! I don't want to clean this mess up.' The second thought was, 'It can't be that bad...he's old enough to know better, I'm sure it was just a mistake.' I turned to find my son standing behind me, here's where it gets gross, he was DRENCHED in poop. He was dripping all over the floor. I was mortified. I grabbed his hand and led him quickly out of the gym searching desperately for the room that had been destroyed by my son's accident. I ran down the hallway asking him which room he was in when it happened. He couldn't remember. I then asked the little girl who had been with him where he had pooped and she said, "He pooped his pants." I asked her again and her reply was, "He pooped his pants." She wouldn't stop saying that OVER AND OVER AND OVER! Finally I asked her the appropriate question for a 4-year-old: "What room was he in when he pooped his pants?" She told me it was in the restroom. So I searched out the restrooms feeling grateful that it was on a hard floor and the clean-up should be simple.
After looking in the bathrooms I found no evidence of his mess. So I asked them where he was when his accident had happened and they told me that he was by the piano. Okay, so now I knew he WASN'T in the bathroom like I had thought....now I had carpet to deal with. (UGH!) So searching the "piano" rooms I found a small mess in the Young Women's room. By this time I had stashed my son in the nearest bathroom for safe keeping. I hurried to him. He was completely embarrassed and I proceeded to clean him and his clothing.
After 15 minutes worth of cleaning my son, I deposited him outside by the church so he wouldn't drip that NASTY water all over the building and I proceeded to the Young Women's room. I promptly cleaned the carpet as best as I could with what little resources I had. The janitor's closet was locked tightly and I had resorted to a wet, soapy paper towel and a dry one to soak up what I had left. I cleaned and scrubbed all the time thinking naughty words about the mess I was left to clean up. I wasn't really mad at my son, I know accidents happen and I'm sure he didn't know that this would have happened to him, I was mostly mad at the mess that I was left to clean up.
As soon as my frantic cleaning was done I hurried to find my mom so we could go to my house to get Cam into clean clothes. People were asking me where Cameron was and I told them that I had left him outside while I cooled off. Then I rummaged around the kitchen for a plastic bag to set the boy on while we were in the car and when I turned around there was my pathetic looking son, wet shoes in hand with his head down-turned. I hurried him out the door and told him that I asked him to stay outside for a reason. I think he thought I was punishing him, so I had a heart-to-heart talk with him. I told him that I was not mad at him, but I was disappointed in what had happened and told him that the reason he had been outside was because I didn't want to make the church messier than it was. He seemed to understand and we went home where I cleaned him up properly.
At the time I was grossed out and not happy in that situation, but looking back I can see the humor in it. I'm just glad that it was resolved quickly. I guess potty-training doesn't end when I thought it did.
UPDATE!! I've been cleaning my computer with the spy-bot search and destroy and adaware, but none of them have worked. So I've googled the problem and came up with this website...if anyone else has this problem, you'll know where to go! :)
