Getting Ridiculous...

For quite a while now I've found myself falling asleep in any comfortable spot. I can be on my couch, at my parents' house, sitting quietly at the computer....it doesn't matter. I will fall instantly asleep. My boys are quite used to it, and Jake has learned to entertain himself rather well...despite his new coloring fetish. He will play with toys or find something to eat.
Today we had a "friend" over. (You should know, any child that is Jake's age or interacts with him is his friend...he has a lot of friends.) This friend was a little boy I've never really met before, but seemed sweet enough. He was fairly mellow, and Jake and he got along VERY well.
Part way through the play date, I turned on my sleeping nemesis: SpongeBob. It doesn't matter HOW many times I've seen the episode, SpongeBob WILL put me to sleep. Soon enough, I was snoozing, and the little boy came over to me and asked, "Hey, are you sleeping??" I quickly answered that I was, and he should go and play with the trucks or watch SpongeBob.
I just cannot help myself. I need help...this is getting ridiculous.

New Dilemma

Both boys are fine. There is nothing "new" with either of them...the new problem lies with me.
It doesn't matter what time of day or night, if I sit still for more than 5 minutes, I will fall asleep. This is more than just exhaustion too. It's beginning to be a problem. I will literally sit in a comfortable chair/couch not do anything, and within MINUTES I'm asleep and possibly snoring. I've been missing a lot of the funny parts or interesting parts to shows or movies because of this.
But more than just missing out on my shows or movies....it IS a problem. One I THOUGHT I could fix on my own. I've tried taking iron, thinking maybe I was anemic, but it's NOT helping.
I have a feeling that I need to go in to a doctor, but right now I can't afford it. I guess I'll be sleeping through the next month or so. This is NOT fun. :(

YAY!

Jake's fever left us YESTERDAY! It was an EARLY morning for us, but we're doing MUCH better. (Jake woke up at 2:30 Monday morning, he was fevered and just feeling miserable!)
I'm pretty sure his fevery-ness came from getting 3 teeth at once. I know that doctors swear that kids don't get fevered when they teethe, but I beg to differ. At least one of the teeth has come out and he seems to be happier.
He is, however, using his misery to be whinier and crankier than usual. I realize I've been blessed with two really good kids. But the whining is something I really could do without.
I'll put Jake on the floor to play, and if he sees either me or Steve, he'll whine until we pick him up. We encourage him to crawl to us, but he throws his arms and legs in the air and cries. Maybe I shouldn't give into his whines so quickly....
Otherwise, we're all happy! AND fever free!!

We are Sisters

Just got off the phone with my sister. (Yeah...the one who, once upon a time was a floating piece of poo...) and found out that she has more in common with me that we thought.
She had called me earlier today to ask me what a gall bladder attack felt like. Let me back up here a little bit.
The week I was going to graduate from high school I began feeling very sick. And it wasn't just ANY sick either...it was like knife-in-the-gut pain, along with miserable nausea. I thought it was just in my head so I kept doing normal things: going on the Lagoon trip, doing the graduation practice stuff, hanging out with my friends, working... But on the day of graduation it was TOO much! My mom had me in the hospital for hours of tests!! They gave me an ulcer test (NASTY!), did an ultrasound on my gall bladder to see if I had stones, then they put me in a machine for an hour while they watched my gall bladder function. After all of these tests they came to the conclusion that I have a "misfiring gall bladder." Don't ask me exactly what that means, all I know, for my own sake, is that every once in a while I'll have an attack that will lay me up in bed for at least 12 hours. I'll moan, whine, and even cry while waiting for the pain to leave. I can't really eat, because I feel like I'm going to be sick...all I can eat is Popsicles. That's it. It's not a fun thing to go through.
ANYWAY, my sister called to see how pleasant these things can be. I told her how I normally feel, and where the pain is...how it can move, and that it's usually aggravated when I eat extremely fatty foods or go without eating for many hours. She said she felt the same way, and asked what she could do. I told her she should call a nurse, maybe see a doctor, because if she has stones they'd need to take care of it immediately. So she closed the call, and told me she'd call back later.
A few hours ago she called me with the news that she may have the SAME thing going on with her gall bladder. They did an ultrasound and found no stones, so they assumed that she has the same thing that I have. It's really weird too, no one else in our family has these problems. No one!! I always thought that I got these weird gall bladder things from taking Phen Fen when I was 17, but now we know!
We compared things we have in common, and the only other thing, really, is our uber-PMS symptoms. When we're going through that, NO ONE should be in our way. My sister is almost my complete opposite, she's skinny and gorgeous, I'm more round and not as pretty as she is. She's into the details, I'm all about keeping things simple! Now we KNOW, we ARE sisters...gall bladders and all!

Final Friday Babysitting

Today was my FINAL day babysitting for my friend L. I can't tell you the gamut of emotions that are raging through my mind. I feel guilty about having to stop. I feel happy that I will get the peaceful feeling I've been missing for a while. I feel elated that I only have to babysit 2 days a week now, and I can TOTALLY handle that kid. I feel sad that I won't be experiencing baby E's huge grins on a daily basis. I feel peace with my decision.
And as a "fun" farewell, we spent the day indulging Cam and little L's obsession with Spongebob Squarepants. We watched the Spongebob marathon that Nick had ALL day long. (I think it helps things to say that I enjoy the humor of Spongebob too!) They loved it, and napped through it. The day wasn't complete until Cam led L on a run from one end of our apartment to the other...over and over and over again. This led to much laughing, and screams heard from the stressed out father. I'd have to say, it was a good day and I'm THRILLED that I don't have to make mac 'n' cheese EVERYDAY for lunch any more! YAY!
Steve has his opening night of Oliver! tonight and was completely stressed over it. It doesn't help that he's coming down with the crud I've had all week long! I'm sure he'll be fine. Tomorrow is my night to go and watch. I'm even driving to pick up his parents for the weekend. They'll be staying at our house and then going to stake conference with us on Sunday. I'm starting to stress about having the in-laws over, but I'm sure it will be good!
I've been in some major pain lately. Last night while trying to enjoy the new ER, I had a sharp pain that felt similar to a contraction. I fretted and tried to get comfy for the next 10 minutes. I prayed hard! I don't know exactly what it was, but I'm doing better now...just a little residual back pain, but I think I'm doing better. My worry was that I had actually managed to get preggo, without knowing it, and was about to miscarry. I don't think that was the case, THANK GOODNESS, but I still worry about what that pain meant. Hopefully nothing more will come from it, but to be safe, I've stopped taking my medication that you AREN'T supposed to take if you're pregnant. Here's hoping! *crossing fingers and eyes*
